The Friends of the Houston History Research Center, in conjunction with the Houston History Research Center (HHRC), offers educational outreach programs for junior high, high school, and college/university in-services, faculty meetings, and conferences.
Members of the Friends of the Houston History Research Center and HHRC archivists present in the Dorothy Knox Howe Houghton Reading Room (in the Julia Ideson Building), at schools, and at in-service/conference sites informative sessions tailored to any length about the resources at the HHRC and researching/writing projects. Parts of the DVD In Search of Houston's History are shown, and attending teachers receive a free copy of the DVD for classroom use.
